Overview

The “Speak It Up!” project aims to address the need for improved public speaking skills among young people aged 18-30 for effective democratic participation. By providing an informal educational package consisting of an app and a board game, the project targets youth trainers and workers, empowering them to train young individuals in public speaking skills relevant to democratic engagement.

Needs Analysis: The project responds to findings from the Salto PI report, which indicates a gap between young people’s interest in politics and their engagement in traditional democratic structures. Despite their motivation, many youths lack the confidence and skills necessary to effectively communicate and participate in civic activities.

Impact: Through its activities, the project seeks to enhance youth participation in democratic processes and promote active citizenship. By distributing educational materials across 8 EU countries and fostering collaboration among partners from various fields, the project aims to create sustainable impact, supporting EU values and encouraging diversity and community engagement.

General Objectives

The specific objectives of the proposed project are:

GO1: Create an innovative non-formal educational package for youth trainers and workers to help young people develop public speaking skills.

GO2: Develop an interactive app and a learning game to engage youths in their learning process.

GO3: Support trainers and youth workers in motivating young people to participate in democratic structures through practical activities.
